Analog Or Digital Music - Which is Better

By Dennis Albro There have been many discussions on the merits and deficiencies of both analog and digital recording and reproduction of music. I believe that each have their place in today's music scene. When I was in the music business during the 70's, analog ruled the recording industry, and the 'Holy Grail' was to record and reproduce music in the most accurate manner without distortion. ANALOG My first introduction to a professional recording studio was in 1969 at American Recording Company on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, CA. The producer was Richie Podolor (stage name: Richie Allen) and the Engineer was Bill Cooper. In my humble opinion, that was the best production team in the music business during the late 60's, through the 70's and into the 80's. It is almost unbelievable the body of work that this team, both together and individually, created. The albums listed for American Recording Company at the allmusic website says it all. My p

Trigger CD Cases

Trigger compact disk cases are a popular choice among compact disk owners who wish to combine convenience and function. Compared to the plastic jewel cases that encase compact disks that are fairly fragile and space consuming, trigger compact disk cases are thinner, lighter and more durable. These are important factors to consider when choosing containers to store valuable compact disks. Made of practically indestructible plastic, what sets trigger compact cases on a pedestal is their unique design. They have triggers that, when squeezed, ejected the disk half way out saving time and effort when searching for a disk that you wish to play. Pushing the trigger again, pushes the disk back into the case. The locking mechanism hold is the compact disk securely in place. It is more convenient since labels can be easily printed and attached to the disk. Trigger compact disk cases manufacturers have designed trigger compact disk cases with literature pockets to owners to keep li

2Pac-One Nation Album Review

Global rating of the product: 4.5 stars Scratches, catchy drum beats, crazy instrumentals introduce Let's Fight. Tupac appears like a walking nightmare, ready to oppress with his offensive lyrics and his unbeatable flow. Open your ears and let the master teach you about thug life. Tattoo Tearz is built on soft guitar and violin sounds combined with an harmonic melody. Instrumentals are intelligently worked on and totally match with the unsafe atmosphere described by thug poet Tupac in the inimitable and genuine style of his. This song is truly a must hear. Style biters are probably a rapper s worst nightmare. Pale imitators and untalented people are often attracted towards genuine talents with a true style. My Own Style is a rhythmic and lyrical Makavelli-branded song that features Greg Nice. Don t sleep on this one! Secrets Of War will surprise the listener, because its slow start will gradually lead him into a highly euphoric atmosphere. Keyboard sounds and swing

How to Find Southern Gospel Music Lyrics

By Gerd Cornelius Pacher Southern gospel music is different from other genres of gospel. Southern gospel is often referred to as "quartet music" because the group is comprised on an all male, tenor lead baritone bass quartet. The lyrics reference everyday problems of life and how God helps to answer these everyday problems. If you are looking to find some Southern gospel lyrics, there are a lot of options for you from which to choose. I like Keepandshare because you have easy access to the music lyrics and they are formatted so that they will print out nicely from your printer. A lot of the other sites do not have this handy feature and it really helps for those times when you want to send your lyrics to a friend. You can visit AllGospelLyrics online to get Southern gospel lyrics as well as the lyrics for many other gospel genres. Sweetlyrics and Straightlyrics all feature gospel music so you should check them out. An easy way to get your hands on some Southern

Cheap Entry Level High Quality Subwoofer - JL Audio 8W0-4 Review

By Armand Jusuf Most consumers are not fanatics. This means that you're probably looking for a product that gets you by with value, quality, and performance. You may not necessarily require your product to be the best of the best or the highest performing one on the market. If you're a car audio fan but not necessarily an enthusiast, you probably want a subwoofer that could produce bass, enough to make your car rumble or enhance the deep low level frequencies of your sound system. If this is you, then the JL Audio 8W0-4 is your subwoofer of choice. It's an 8" subwoofer that packs quite a punch. It is capable of putting out 150 watts of maximum power and 75 watts of RMS continuous power. At first sight, the 8" may not be the most intimidating subwoofer cosmetically, however, it could indeed produce excellent quality bass outputs thanks to its design. The woofer is composed of a polypropylene cone with a sealed polypropylene dust cap, a standard car

How to Avoid Buying Poor Quality DVD Movies

By John Howard Reid To date, there are only four ways to check on DVD quality prior to purchase: 1. Consult an internet source such as "imdb" or "inthebalcony.com". 2. Rely on the testimony of friends and acquaintances. 3. Ask the dealer. 4. Use a reference book. Unfortunately, all of these methods have drawbacks. Internet sites sometimes provide a guide to DVD quality, particularly if the release is a major offering from a major company. On the other hand, releases from specialist firms that cater for the devoted classic movie fan are almost always ignored, even when these particular DVDs are widely advertised and sold. Friends and acquaintances who share an interest in classic and vintage Hollywood are usually more helpful, but there is obviously a tendency among members of such formal or informal groups to wait until someone else has purchased a particular item. This may take some time. In some cases, the desired DVD may even go out of print! D

5 Cool Ways to Use The iPod Shuffle

By Tyler Powers The iPod shuffle can do much more than just play music. Here are a few things you can use your shuffle for, that will enrich life and improve your knowledge. You can use your iPod shuffle to learn a new language. Since the iPod shuffle is light enough to listen to anywhere, you should take advantage of those long waits in lines to brush up on your foreign language skills. Simply add audio books that teach the foreign language that you wish to learn and listen to them anytime and anywhere without interrupting others. You can share your music with another when using a Belkin headphone splitter. The Belkin headphone splitter connects into the earphone jack of your shuffle and provides two connections where you can connect two earphones instead of one only. This would be a prefect solution for couples that wish to listen to music instead of boring conversations during family gatherings. Sitting side-by-side, a couple can smile and nod while listening to thei

Kicker KS60.2 Speaker Review (08ks602)

The Kicker brand name continues to product quality products, one model that I personally felt was worthy of a review is the K60.20 6" car speakers. One thing I noticed is that though it is referred to as a 6" speaker set is a suitable fit for any 6-1/2" openings. This 6" Component System is a sleek looking set that is capable of handling the high's and low's of any type of music you might enjoy. This component system can handle 75 watts RMS continuous power handling, and its sensitivity rating is an adequate 88 dB. It can handle an impressive frequency range from 38 - 21000 Hz. The cone woofer consists of molded polypropylene which enables the mid range woofer to respond efficiently and effectively to the beat of your music. Another great plus about the Kicker KS60.2 speakers is the surround material. The edges are made out of Santoprene, a thermoplastic compound that is processed in much the same way as any type of plastic. The difference is
