Piano playing is an art with unlimited possibilites. Pippi Longstocking made a remark in a film that can be used when you try to learn to play piano. Pippi Longstocking is a nine-year-old Swedish girl in a series of children's books. Pippi has red braids and is very unconventional, assertive, extraordinarily strong, and rich. She lives alone with a monkey and a horse in an old funny house. Her friends Tommy and Annika accompany her on her wild adventures. One Christmas when she was alone in the house looking out through the window feeling lonesome her lyoung friends and the children from town came in a procession to her house surprising her with a Christmas present. She was very happy when she saw them and when she opened the present she found a trumpet and immediately started to play on it. Why Should I Bother With a Piano Restoration?

By Kristen Easton In our throw away society it's becoming more popular to refinish older items and restore them to their former glory. This process is not without sacrifice as there can be considerable time and cost involved. But when it comes to pianos the result is often well worth it. Pianos, like many other instruments, often have a rich history that has been passed down through many generations. Simply choosing to discard that history and purchasing a new piano can be the quick and easy route, but you will undoubtedly destroy something of great value. Having a piano truly restored is not a simple task. If you are lucky enough to have professional restorers in your area then your transportation costs won't be too high. Moving a piano just a few hundred miles can cost $600 or more. The job itself can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months depending on the severity and complexity of the restoration work required. The process is really an art fo...

Alan Jackson Drive Contemporary Country Music CD Review

By Clyde Lee Dennis Drive is the latest Contemporary Country CD put out by the very talented Alan Jackson who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Alan Jackson fans, and Contemporary Country fans alike will be pleased with this one. It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all. Drive is a pleasantly varied, mix of 13 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard. Overall Drive is outsta...

An ideal school is one that offers comprehensive, hands-on education in contemporary music performance (typically, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and voice), recording, songwriting, original music production, music business and related fields such as music video production and instrument-making. Professionally-oriented schools offer programs designed to increase your technical skills, musicianship and performing experience to a level that will allow you to play any style of music. To evaluate the best schools of this type, you need to analyze the music course content along with the professional background of the instructors who teach them. Another valuable indicator is found in the record of students who have gone through the school - their success stories will tell you whether the school is providing relevant education. Vocational m...

The exceptionally talented Jazz artist David Kikoski has released him CD entitled Lighter Way. With the release of Lighter Way David Kikoski's artistic excellence is on full display as Kikoski has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date. Unfortunately, it's not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can't force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Lighter Way. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish. One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you've got one of David K...
